Windows

Triple Glazed Units
Richmond Heritage offer a triple glazed unit in a 28mm overall to achieve an impressive 0.6 W/m2K centre pane u-value or an incredible 0.4 W/m2K centre pane in a 36mm unit.

Before we take a look at the obvious benefits of triple glazing, first you have to understand how the glass in windows links in with the energy efficiency of the property. Firstly, there is direct heat loss, normally measured in u-values, and is basically the loss of heat over a particular area measured in time. The slower the heat escapes, the better. In recent years glass manufactures have achieved better results with Low-E (low emissivity) glass such as Pilkington KS or KS 1, Saint Gobain’s Planitherm Total + or Planitherm One II, which is a soft coating to stop energy escaping.
By adding another pane of Low-E glass it helps the u-value of the triple glazed unit, adding another barrier to stop heat escaping out of a room. We use warm-edge spacer bar, which acts as a thermal break inside the unit, stopping the transfer of cold air into the room, and warm air out of the room, thus reducing the risk of condensation. Most of the heat loss from a window travels through the edge of the glass. The warm-edge spacer helps, as its name suggests, keep the edge of the unit warmer. We fill the cavities of these triple glazed units with inert gases, such as Krypton or Argon, which helps create insulating pockets, thus improving levels of insulation.

Red Grandis
Red Grandis is a high performance engineered hardwood which has excellent natural durability and resistance to fungi. Red Grandis is guaranteed against rotting for 30 years.

Double Glazed Units
We have allowed for Saint-Gobain Planitherm Low E double glazed units. These are high performance thermally efficient units and have Edgetech light grey warm edged perimeter spacers to further reduce heat loss. Our software calculates the whole window and door U-values, and is accredited by the BSI Thermal Performance Verification. A 16mm Argon filled cavity which is the most thermal efficient in conventional double glazed units.
Paint Finish
Teknos are a leading Scandinavian company that supply paints for modified timber products. The extremely durable 3 coat microporous paint system is applied in factory controlled conditions and gives our joinery products outstanding service lives and reduced maintenance frequency. The Teknos guarantee when used with Accoya is extended to 12 years (from 8 years – Red Grandis) before complete redecoration is required.

When you make a free, no obligation appointment with Heritage, one of the company Directors will visit your home to discuss your new home improvement. We’ll listen carefully to your requirements. We will offer recommendations for designs to suit your home and help you get the most out of your investment. We will send you a quotation for the project.
Detailed survey
We will contact you to make arrangements for your installation team to call and carry out a detailed survey. They will take accurate measurements and confirm the designs and options you’ve ordered.
Manufacture
Once the survey has been carried out we begin processing your order. All of Heritage’s windows, doors and conservatories are manufactured to the highest standard using the best materials. We apply strict quality control procedures at every stage of production and we never compromise.
Installation
When you make a free, no obligation appointment with Heritage, one of the company Directors will visit your home to discuss your new home improvement. We’ll listen carefully to your requirements. We will offer recommendations for designs to suit your home and help you get the most out of your investment. We will send you a quotation for the project.
Completion
Upon satisfactory completion of your project the balance will be payable. We will register your windows and doors with CERTASS who will send you your certificate direct. Your 10 year insurance backed guarantee will be activated.
